She is survived by her husband Andrew; daughter Lora Lee and husband Dan Dunlap; daughter Andrea and husband Paul Holt; son Scot Brown; sister Sallie and husband Chuck Werkmeister; brother Lester and wife Kaffee Swanner; niece Kate and nephews Scott and John. Dorothy loved her grandchildren: Cari, Adam and fiancée Sarahjess and Amanda Dunlap; Rachel and Rebekah Holt; Dominic, Jesse and Justin Brown; and great grandchild Morgan Dunlap, due in August. Dorothy was an active member of the New Day congregation at Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, where she always sat right up front, volunteered in the thrift shop and helped with Sunday lunches. She loved genealogy and animals. She enjoyed traveling, especially on cruise ships. During her extensive adventures, she unknowingly opened her heart and home to individuals around the world with a warm smile and jolly laugh. As her mom said to her, and she frequently repeated, “This too shall pass.” The memorial service will be Monday, May 21 at 1:30 at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University, NE. The family would like to extend their thanks for all the love and support. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Central United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Some of the charities Dorothy contributed to include: Habitat for Humanity (www.habitatabq.org), St. Labre Indian School (www.stlabre.org), New Mexico girls' and boys' Ranch (www.theranches.org) and REDWINGS Horse Sanctuary (redwingshorsesanctuary.org).
